Pleasanton entrepreneur Reena Gupta has entered the race for District 3 on the Pleasanton City Council, setting up a contest for the seat now held by Julie Testa. Former school board member Jamie Yee is also running for the position.
Gupta, a 15 year Pleasanton resident and mother of two PUSD graduates, said her campaign will focus on economic vitality, civic engagement and preparing residents for future jobs. She has founded several workforce development initiatives, including the FutureScape Program, the Mom Relaunch Foundation and the AI driven platform Wisdocity.
Her background also includes service on the city’s Economic Vitality Commission, where she helped shape Pleasanton’s Economic Development Strategic Plan. Gupta has also been active with Pleasanton Connects, the Three Valleys Community Foundation, the Rotary Club of Pleasanton and the Pleasanton Unified School District’s career technical education efforts.
Gupta said she wants to make city government more accessible and responsive to residents.
