Amazon Prime Video marked the sixth anniversary of one of India's most beloved web series in the most fitting way possible: by announcing that cameras have rolled on Panchayat Season 5. The makers took to Instagram on April 3, sharing behind the scene photographs from the sets with the heartwarming caption, "Six years of being in Phulera and never wanting to leave."
The entire ensemble that has made Phulera feel like home to millions of viewers returns for Season 5. Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, Sanvikaa, Durgesh Kumar, Sunita Rajwar and Pankaj Jha are all back, with the new season written by Chandan Kumar, directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and produced by The Viral Fever.
Season 5 picks up after the dramatic and emotionally charged cliffhanger that left audiences stunned at the close of Season 4. Fans flooded the comments section of the announcement post with unbridled joy, with one viewer memorably declaring: "Make it at least 100 seasons."
Panchayat, which premiered on April 3, 2020, has grown from a quiet sleeper hit into one of the most celebrated original series in Indian streaming history.
