San Francisco International Airport (SFO) says that starting March 30, 2026, one of its runways will be closed for repairs. This runway will stay closed for about six months while crews fix the surface and improve nearby taxiways.
Because of this, all arrivals and departures will use the remaining runways. Airport officials warn that up to about 10 % of flights could be delayed, usually by around 30 minutes, especially during busy times of day.
The runway is expected to reopen on October 2, 2026 after the work is finished.
If you’re flying to or from SFO after March 30, make sure to check your flight status ahead of time and leave extra time for any delays.
