Bay Area's Largest Holi Celebration FOG Holi Brings Colors, Culture, and Community Together in Fremont

The Festival of Globe (FOG), in association with the Fremont Hindu Temple and the Federation of Indo-Americans, successfully organized a vibrant celebration of Holi – the Festival of Colors on Saturday, March 7, at Washington High School in Fremont, California. The event drew a large gathering of families, community leaders, and cultural organizations from across the Bay Area, making it one of the most anticipated Holi celebrations in the region.

The festival, held from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, transformed the venue into a lively spectacle filled with bright colors, music, dance, and festive energy. Hundreds of attendees, including families and youth, came together to celebrate the arrival of spring and the spirit of unity that Holi represents.

Participants enthusiastically took part in the traditional throwing of organic colors, creating a joyful and colorful atmosphere throughout the day. The event also featured energetic Bollywood dance performances by some of the Bay Area’s leading dance studios, along with music by a live DJ that kept the crowd entertained. Guests enjoyed a wide selection of food and refreshments offered by vendors, adding to the festive experience.

Speaking about the event, Dr. Romesh Japra, Founder and Convener of Festival of Globe, highlighted the importance of such cultural gatherings for the community.

“FOG Holi has over the years played an important role in bringing the community together and keeping our cultural traditions alive,” said Japra. “It is heartwarming to see families, young people, and community organizations come together to celebrate our heritage with such enthusiasm.”

The festival also served as a platform for community engagement and cultural expression. Several non-profit and cultural organizations participated, showcasing the diversity and vibrancy of Indian traditions while encouraging community interaction and collaboration.

The success of the event was made possible through the generous support of sponsors and partners who contributed to making the celebration accessible and enjoyable for the community. Annual Gold Sponsors included well-known brands such as MTR Foods, Eastern, and Vadilal, while Silver Sponsors and partners included Daawat Rice, Royal, InstaService, Integrated, and Spare the Air, among others. Their continued support played a significant role in helping FOG organize a large-scale cultural celebration.

In addition, several media and community partners supported the outreach and promotion of the event, helping bring together people from different parts of the Bay Area to participate in the festivities.

Over the years, FOG Holi has grown into one of the largest and most popular Holi celebrations in the Bay Area, attracting thousands of participants and promoting Indian culture among the diaspora and the broader community. Events like these provide an opportunity for younger generations to experience traditional festivals while strengthening bonds within the community.

With vibrant colors filling the air, lively music, and smiling faces throughout the venue, the 2026 edition of FOG Holi once again demonstrated the power of cultural celebrations in bringing people together.

Organizers expressed their gratitude to volunteers, sponsors, performers, and attendees for their support and participation, and they look forward to continuing the tradition of celebrating Holi with the community in the years to come.
