The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced a cash reward of INR 131 crore for Team India following their triumphant campaign in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, capping off a historic night that rewrote the record books of world cricket.
India defeated New Zealand in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to successfully defend their T20 World Cup title, becoming the first team in the history of the tournament to retain the coveted trophy. The victory also made India the first nation to win the ICC Men's T20 World Cup three times, cementing their status as the undisputed kings of the shortest format.
The announcement was made by BCCI Honorary Secretary Devajit Saikia, who congratulated the players, support staff, and selectors on what he called a "historic achievement."
