Delaware Governor Matthew Meyer issued an official proclamation on April 15 honoring Indian spiritual leader Sadhguru, recognizing his extraordinary contributions as a yogi, humanitarian, author, and environmentalist during his landmark visit to the state.

The proclamation describes Sadhguru as "one of India's most influential citizens and a prominent spiritual leader of our time," citing his work through the Isha Foundation, a global nonprofit that conducts yoga programs and outreach initiatives worldwide. The document also highlights his contributions to environmental protection, rural revitalization, and public well being across diverse communities.

In a historic moment for the Indian American community, Sadhguru was also invited to address the Delaware State Senate, becoming one of the very few Indian spiritual leaders to speak inside a US legislative chamber. Following his address on the importance of inner well being to a healthy society, senators honored him with an official Senate Tribute, and Sadhguru gifted each legislator an Adiyogi shawl.

"We join our friends and neighbors in the Indian American community in celebrating Sadhguru's visit," Governor Meyer stated in the proclamation. Sadhguru, born Jaggi Vasudev, founded the Isha Foundation and has spent decades bringing the wisdom of yogic sciences to global audiences.
