Veteran industrialist Vijaypat Singhania, former chairman of Raymond Group, has passed away at the age of 87 in Mumbai.
A towering figure in India’s corporate world, Singhania played a crucial role in transforming Raymond into one of the country’s most recognized textile and apparel brands. His leadership helped establish the brand’s iconic identity, including its famous “Complete Man” positioning.
Beyond business, he was also widely admired as an accomplished aviator, setting records and contributing significantly to aviation in India. His achievements earned him the prestigious Padma Bhushan, one of the nation’s highest civilian honors.
Singhania passed away on March 28, 2026. His death marks the end of an era in Indian industry, leaving behind a legacy of entrepreneurship, innovation, and adventure.
