NEW DELHI — Air India has announced a temporary reduction in flight frequency across 16 major international routes, impacting destinations in North America, Europe, Australia, and the Far East. The changes will be in effect from June 21 to July 15, 2025, as part of an operational adjustment following recent disruptions (source, Air India Press Release).
Travelers flying between New Delhi and major U.S. cities—Washington DC (IAD), San Francisco (SFO), and Chicago (ORD)—will see a notable decrease in weekly flights:
Delhi–San Francisco: Reduced from 10 to 7 flights per week
Delhi–Chicago: Reduced from 7 to 3 flights per week
Delhi–Washington (Dulles): Reduced from 5 to 3 flights per week
Passengers scheduled to travel on these routes during the affected period are strongly advised to check their flight status and confirm any changes directly with Air India before their departure. The airline has urged customers to stay updated via its official website and customer service channels.
The move comes as Air India works to streamline operations and ensure passenger safety following recent incidents. The airline has apologized for the inconvenience and is offering rebooking assistance to affected travelers.
