FREMONT, CA — Manisha Pathak, candidate for the District 4 City Council seat, says she would tackle homelessness, public safety and climate goals with prevention, coordination and measurable results.
On homelessness, Pathak backs upstream prevention, supportive housing and continuous case management. She also supports behavioral health and substance use treatment. She wants closer coordination among Fremont, Alameda County, hospitals and non-profits. Bridge to employment programs would help people regain financial independence, with progress tracked through clear outcomes.
On safety, she favors safer school zones, optimized signal timing and targeted speed mitigation, built on partnerships among residents, schools, first responders and government.
Her sustainability plan includes Miyawaki micro forests to expand the tree canopy, better first and last mile transit links, and on demand shuttles for lower density routes.
If elected, her first year priority would be a City Led Mental Health and Wellness Taskforce. It would bring together non-profits, healthcare providers, Alameda County agencies and schools. She also plans multilingual outreach to reduce stigma around seeking help.
Pathak says her volunteer record and analytical skills set her apart from her opponent.
