Homicide Investigation Underway in Fremont

The Fremont Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

At approximately 4:19 p.m., Fremont Police Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting in the area of Central Avenue and Joseph Street. Patrol officers responded immediately and arrived at the scene within minutes.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult victim lying on the ground. Life-saving trauma care was provided at the scene; however, the victim later succumbed to their injuries. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The Crimes Against Persons Unit has taken over the investigation. At this time, the case remains very active, and no additional details are being released.

This incident marks Fremont’s second homicide of 2026.
