About the Contest
The Bay Area Science Championship is an annual science competition for elementary and middle school students (Grades 1–6). It aims to spark curiosity, strengthen scientific thinking, and nurture a love for discovery, encouraging young learners to excel in STEM education.
Each grade receives a unique set of age-appropriate questions aligned with academic standards. Questions are based on three core topics: The Universe, Plants, and Animals.
Contest Format
• Duration: 40 minutes
• Questions: 30–32 grade-appropriate MCQs
• Tools: No calculators, books, or electronic devices
• Participation: Individual
• Mode: In-person at designated test centers
• Materials: MCQ answer sheets and worksheets

Finals Invitation
1st Place winners from each location qualify for the Final Round to compete for the title of Bay Area Science Champion.
Final Awards:
• 1st – Bay Area Science Champion

• 3rd – Second Runner-up
Assessment Criteria
• +1 mark for each correct answer
• 0 marks for incorrect or unanswered questions
Rules & Eligibility
• Questions in English only
• Individual participation; test attempted once
• No calculators or electronic devices
• Cheating results in disqualification
• Results announced on January 25, 2025
• Prizes are non-transferable
• Organizer’s decision is final
