About The Movie:

Sikandar follows the journey of a man who overcomes all hurdles that life throws his way just so that he can alleviate the plight of the less fortunate and those in need of his help. His transition from a nonchalant man to a selfless man, inspired by his wife, makes him emerge as a beacon of hope for those ensnared in darkness.

Critics Review :Sikandar, the much-anticipated Eid 2025 release, brings Bollywood megastar Salman Khan back to the big screen under the direction of A.R. Murugadoss, known for his action-packed thrillers like Ghajini and Holiday. The film, marketed as a high-octane action drama, also stars Rashmika Mandanna in the female lead and features supporting performances from acclaimed actors such as Sharman Joshi and Sathyaraj.

With its promise of gripping action, intense drama, and a larger-than-life protagonist, Sikandar generated immense pre-release buzz. But does it live up to the hype, or does it fall short of expectations? Let’s find out.

Set in Rajkot, the film revolves around Sanjay Rajkot, aka Sikandar (Salman Khan), a beloved leader known for his kindness and righteousness. His wife, Saishri (Rashmika Mandanna), secretly protects him from danger, proving to be his silent guardian. However, their peaceful life takes a dark turn when they cross paths with a corrupt minister (Sathyaraj) and his reckless son (Prateik Babbar).

The minister orchestrates a tragedy that results in Saishri’s untimely death. In her final act of kindness, she donates her organs to three individuals in Mumbai—a young boy from Dharavi, a CA topper battling family restrictions, and a heartbroken college student. The villain then targets these recipients to erase Saishri’s memory and break Sikandar’s spirit. The rest of the film follows Sikandar’s mission to protect them, seek justice, and transform their lives.

The premise had potential for high drama and emotion, but the film struggles to maintain coherence, falling back on predictable tropes and forced sentimentality.

Salman Khan has a few decent moments, particularly in action sequences, but his emotional scenes lack depth. His portrayal of Sikandar doesn’t offer anything new beyond his usual larger-than-life persona.

Rashmika Mandanna, despite playing a pivotal role in the narrative, has minimal screen time and little scope to showcase her acting chops.

A.R. Murugadoss, known for thrillers like Ghajini and Holiday, seems to lose his touch with Sikandar. The direction lacks urgency, and the storytelling feels disjointed. While the first half sets up an intriguing premise, the second half drowns in forced emotional arcs and formulaic revenge drama. Despite its potential, the film struggles to balance action with emotions, resulting in a frustratingly predictable experience.

The action sequences are standard fare—slow-motion punches, over-the-top stunts, and gravity-defying moves designed for Salman Khan’s fans. While some fight sequences are visually engaging, they lack novelty.

Sikandar had the potential to be an emotional action drama, but it squanders its premise with a weak script, predictable twists, and uninspired performances. Salman Khan has his moments, but the film fails to do justice to its themes.

Watch it if you’re a die-hard Salman Khan fan who enjoys mass action films.
