2236 Farmcrest Street, Milpitas, 95035 UPMA currently provides elementary and secondary school education to 103 children aged 7-12 years at Saidham in Bundelkhand and has set up ten daycare centers for 400 children aged 3-6 years in tribal villages around Chitrakoot. The team expects to double these numbers in 2021.
For just under $2800, UPMA is able to set up and run a daycare center for 35+ children in a village. Most of the tribal living in these villages are extremely poor and since both parents work as farm labor, their younger children aged 3-6 have to be looked after by their older siblings 7-12, leaving both children deprived of any kind of formal schooling. Our goal in setting up the day care centers is to allow the older siblings to attend formal school in the village, while taking care of the pre-schooling needs of the younger ones.
