She is the prime disciple of the Bharatanatyam virtuoso, Dr. Vijay Madhavan (senior disciple of the world renowned Padmasri Smt. Chitra Visweswaran).Shreeja Dance Academy is a satellite institution of Rechita Nrutyalaya (founded by Dr. Vijay Madhavan) and is founded on the basic principles of the Guru Sishya Parampara - the tradition of imparting knowledge based on the ever developing relationship between the teacher and student, in a holistic environment that provides for a well-rounded development. Steeped in the Vazhuvoor tradition renowned for its grace and lively movements, Shreeja Dance Academy, like its parent institution, strives to create Bharatanatyam artists that not only know how to dance, but also respect the philosophy of the art-form and embrace its spiritual significance, thereby enabling them to skillfully weave magic with their movements with an intellectual approach.
