NataRaji Arts offers Veena and yoga classes (in-person and virtual) for beginners and intermediate practitioners (Kids 6+ years of age and adults) in San Jose, Bay Area. Veena is an ancient Indian String Instrument. It is the divine instrument played by Goddess Saraswati (Goddess of Knowledge, Music and Wisdom). Rajalakshmi Roshan, Artistic Director of NataRaji Arts, started learning Veena at the age of 11 under the tutelage of Guru. Shri. Rangarajan Soundarajan (AKA small Veena Rangarajan) and completed her arangetram in 2005 at Karneshwar temple in Chennai, India. She won first place at the All India Radio Instrumental (Veena) Competition in 2007 and has given several performances all around Chennai. Apart from being a passionate Vainika and a trained Indian Classical Dancer, Rajalakshmi has been a yoga practitioner since the age of 8. She is a certified yoga instructor and offers yoga classes focused on improving flexibility, building strength and developing a mindful practice in the busy modern world.
