Her passion for Abinaya (facial expressions) and dance movements set her up to train in Pandanallur Style under Smt. Malarkodi Vijayaraghavan in Sri Hari Abinaya Krishna Bharatanatya Issai Palli and Vazhuvoor Style under Smt. G. Sujatha in Niruthya Niketan School Of Dance And Music. Soundharya did her first solo performance ie arangetram in the year 2004 under Smt. G. Sujatha in Chennai. In the very same year, She was awarded the Natya Kala Ratna by the South India Social and Cultural academy.
