2577 Samaritan Drive, San Jose, 95124 I moved to California from Manhattan, where I grew up next door to New York Hospital, four months prior to the earthquake in 1989. I came here to do my Obstetrics and Gynecology training at Stanford University Hospital. I decided the wonderful weather and a great training opportunity outweighed the earthquake, so I stayed and completed my residency in 1993. Having just met my future husband, a Palo Alto native, I took a position at Kaiser Permanente-Santa Teresa Medical Center in San Jose, California. While I was at Kaiser I got a lot of experience with pluses and minuses of "HMO Medicine". During my time at Kaiser I founded and directed "The Teen Clinic." The clinic was designed to reach out to an underserved segment of the population, teenage girls. The clinic was designed to meet the unique needs of adolescents with a multi-disciplinary team of Pediatricians, Gynecologists and Family Practitioners. The Teen Clinic continues to be an important part of the services offered by Santa Teresa Medical Center.
